COVID-19 Information Update – June 25, 2020
Resuming Lifesaving Society Programs
Dear Members and Supporters,
Information Update – Teaching Lifesaving Society Programs
On June 23, 2020, Lifesaving Society Manitoba received further clarifications from Manitoba Public Health around how teaching of lifesaving and lifeguard courses may take place. Effective immediately teaching of Lifesaving Society programs may resume at your pool subject to restrictions, as mandated by Manitoba Public Health.
Lifesaving Society Manitoba is therefore now issuing the following guidance document to facilities to assist with restarting programming:
COVID-19 Teaching Lifesaving Programs Guidelines (June 25, 2020)
This new document supplements the following documents previously released by Lifesaving Society Manitoba:
Information Bulletin on Staff Training & Reopening Pools (June 17, 2020)
COVID-19 Update for National Lifeguard Recerts (June 17, 2020)
COVID-19 Guidelines for Opening Pools & Waterfronts in Manitoba (June 17, 2020)
COVID-19 First Aid Teaching Update (June 15, 2020)
COVID-19 First Aid Teaching and Decontamination Protocols (June 15, 2020)
COVID-19 First Aid Training Guidelines (June 15, 2020)
Further Manitoba Public Health requires all aquatic facilities and training providers to include a copy of the above documents in their safety plan binders and to be able to produce them if requested by a Public Health Officer. This would be in addition to any and all other COVID-19 specific procedures in place at the Facility. Links to pertinent online COVID-19 resources are provided in Appendix 1 of the PDF version of this memo.
