National Medical Advisory Committee
The Lifesaving Society Canada is currently seeking three volunteers to participate on the National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC). Reporting to the National Medical Advisor, the NMAC will:
- Provide expert medical advice or opinion on medical-related content applicable to Lifesaving Society training programs as new research and/or guidelines are released.
- Analyze new research, interpret the information and make recommendations to help guide program updates and revisions (does not include implementation or delivery of program content).
- Review standards, position statements and/or information bulletins for their medical soundness and suggest revisions as appropriate.
Applicants cannot be Lifesaving Society National or Branch staff and are required to hold an active license to practice medicine or be an active health care professional (e.g. Registered Nurse, Paramedic).
The term of Office is two (2) years with the option of reapplying for an additional one (1) year term. The NMAC shall meet as determined by the needs of the business of the Society (meetings will only be scheduled as issues arise). The Committee may conduct business by telephone, videoconference, e-mail or other electronic means as acceptable to all members of the Committee.
