Our Team

Stacey has worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years as an Executive Director. She has extensive experience in leadership, strategy, public relations, marketing and communications. She has served on many boards and committees in the community, and currently sits on the Board of Governors of Balmoral Hall School.

“I am very proud and honoured to be part of this great organization as leaders in water safety and programming throughout Manitoba for over 100 years,” said Stacey Grocholski. “I look forward to building strategic partnerships and continuing to build on this incredible legacy which has already contributed so much to our community.”

Her goal is to ensure that all Manitobans have access to information to develop real world skills on how to stay safe when in, on and around water.

Lorne joined Lifesaving Society Manitoba in 2017 following a 30-year career in broadcasting primarily at 680 CJOB. He has a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Radio and Television from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) and was awarded Best Media Contribution to Boating Safety from the Canadian Safe Boating Council in 2017.

Prior to working for the Society he has worked as a lifeguard, swimming instructor, and trainer across the province. He has been a certified lifeguard and swimming and lifesaving instructor for over 30 years, and he is a National Trainer for the Lifesaving Society’s programs. He holds a PhD from the University of York in the History of Swimming, and has authored a book on the subject.

Kathy is the programming resource for all Lifesaving Society instructors, examiners, trainers, affiliates, and the public in Manitoba. Kathy has been involved with the Lifesaving Society since 1971, when she earned her Bronze Medallion at Pan Am Pool with the Lifesaving Society’s Lifesaving Club that swam there every Saturday. Her first lifeguarding job was in 1972. She is a National Trainer for the Lifesaving Society. Kathy is the Manitoba representative on the national Training Programs Commission.
