BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Lifesaving Society – Manitoba Branch, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing drowning, seeks individuals who are interested in serving in a volunteer position as a Director of the Board.
About the Lifesaving Society
We are Canada’s lifeguarding experts. We work to prevent drownings and water-related injuries through training programs, Water Smart® public education initiatives, drowning research, and aquatic safety management. The Society is part of the International Life Saving Federation and the Royal Lifesaving Commonwealth. The Society has ten provincial branches and one national office in Ottawa. The Lifesaving Society – Manitoba Branch has provided programs and services to Manitobans for over 100 years. The Branch trains all of province’s National Lifeguards.
Board of Directors Recruitment
The Board of Directors anticipates two director vacancies. Nominees for these positions should have experience and expertise in one of the following areas.
- Human resource management
- Law or understanding of non-profit legal processes
Experience with the Society’s programs, drowning prevention, policy governance, not-for-profit management and oversight, and charitable giving are also desired.
The Lifesaving Society – Manitoba Branch provides services to a wide variety of Manitobans and would be proud to have a board who represent the diverse communities it serves.
